Ordered some 470uF 6.3v SMD tantalum capacitors I forgot about so repaired an old CECHE-01 PS3 with the media card reader on the front and four USB ports. Also backwards compatible with PS2 games. Amongst other things, this is how I spent my Sunday.
I replaced the two NEC/TOKINS, it powered on, figured I'd leave it at that since I'll never use it anyway. The fans speed up to a ridiculous level most of the time. I was going to investigate but honestly, I just don't care. Success enough.
