Touhou 14.3: Impossible Spell Card (ISC) is a pretty incredible spinoff game! You play as Seija Kijin, an amanojaku who is being hunted down by all sorts of powerful characters from the Touhou franchise. They have been told to use spellcards that were deemed impossible to dodge. Luckily, Seija is having none of that, and decides to cheat her way to victory instead, using various magical items she picks up along the way!

This game actually plays out like a puzzle game for the most part! Each scene usually has a specific cheat item that elegantly bypasses a challenging aspect of the spellcard, perhaps even using the enemy's tricks against them! It's a very wonderful premise for a game. Of course, ZUN left a fun little surprise for the completionists out there, in the form of a special nickname for clearing every scene without using the cheat items as advertised!

I was already very content beating the game normally with the items (and it was actually still pretty hard!), but figuring out ways to beat it without cheats and sharpening my skills turned out to be a blast as well. Eventually, I realized I could slap together a replay showcase video showing off some of the more fun spellcards in the game, as well as how I did them. I hope it's as fun for you to watch as it was for me to play!
