The first level of Repton 4, the new Repton game included with Repton Infinity. As I stated in my Robbo Level 4 video, Repton Infinity allows you to complete one set, choose another, and continue playing with your accumulated score. I decided to play Rep4A next, as this is another very interesting game, and also one I did not get far with when I played it on the BBC Micro as a child.

This game is like previous Repton games, but adds still further types of new object. Perhaps the most interesting are the photocopiers, which, as the manual says, "will duplicate almost anything but may only be used once". To achieve the best possible score, you must photocopy ghouls wherever possible, as these give you 20 points (if they are killed by rock or fungus), more than any other copyable object. However, in this level it is best to photocopy a spirit (which requires sending it through a transporter), so that the bottom-right cage can be opened before the two rocks blocking it are released. This is the only way you can drop one of these two rocks onto the magic wall without the other rock also falling and blocking off the newly created banknote. Since this level starts with the same number of spirits and cages, I block off one spirit so that after the other two spirits and the photocopied one have all caged I do not have a free spirit roaming around the level with nowhere to go.

Collecting the last banknote requires the Infinity Shuffle (moving to a new square and back before a rock starts falling). Because the Infinity Shuffle is possible, the ordinary Repton shuffle is a little harder to pull off than on previous Repton games, but it is still possible. Here, I use a Repton shuffle to get a rock onto the magic wall in the top-right.

At the end of the level, four magiblocks remain, but in three separate areas of the level, and it is not possible to bring any three of them together.
