Levels 3 (Wheels Within Wheels) and 4 (Transporter Riddle) of Reptology3, an adaptation of the Repton 3 Take 2 levels for Superior Interactive's PC version of Repton 3 (http://www.superiorinteractive.com/repton/3.htm). Since my previous two videos showed the original versions of these levels, this video shows the ways in which the adapations differ from the originals.

Firstly, Repton 3 levels are smaller than Repton Infinity levels (28x24 instead of 32x24). The layout has been "squashed up", so to speak, to make everything fit. In all the Reptology levels, I tried to keep the play of the levels as accurate to the originals as I could, but in Level 3 I made my worst mistake (due to not actually having played the original level yet at the time). Due to the squashing, there was no room for the rock partway down the slope of the lowest "wheel", so I put this rock on top of the wheel. That, though, means that, unlike on the original, it is possible to push this rock aside and get to the bottom-left area without having taken the transporter, something I could easily have avoided. (I hadn't realised that taking the transporter was the only way into the area on the original.) At least it is still probably the fastest solution to the level.

Also on this level, there is one fewer spirit, since Repton 3 has a limit of eight, and the spirits that were confined to single squares each have two squares instead. On Repton 3, if you try to confine a spirit to one square, it will instead acquire the ability to move through solid objects!

In my adaptation of Level 4, the major difference was a deliberate decision. It is no longer necessarily best to take the top transporter at the beginning. (On the original, you had to take this transporter at some point to access the safes near Repton's start, so you might as well do so straight away.) I find this makes the level more interesting, as you have more choice about what order to solve the level's puzzles in, and might try doing it a different way each time. In the video, I take the second transporter, which I think leads to the fastest solution.
