I only know this book for its infamy in inspiring a disturbed individual to shoot down John Lennon with a belief that he was like one of the many people mentioned in the book and decided to act out actions within the book.

This resonates whenever the discussion of "Video Game Violence" comes up with the suggestion that kids with impressionable minds are going to all wake up one day and become serial killers because of these "dangerous" video games! Oh the horror!

In case my sarcasm wasn't obvious enough, yes some people will get swayed by media like many who committed suicide, believing that the Matrix was real and so they would do it to escape that world. However, outlawing media because of this is never a solution.
