The 2020 Resident Evil 3 remake is a beautiful looking game but it ultimately felt rushed and unsatisfying. It borrowed way too many elements and assets from the previous game and it's conceptual idea is based on the most annoying thing from the previous game.

This time around there is only one path to embark on. You will play as Jill from the first game but this time she has been kicked off the S.T.A.R.S. due to the Mansion Incident and her continued investigation into the corruption and evil of Umbrella. Jill attempts to save Raccoon City from a government sent nuclear bomb. You will also occasionally play as Carlos, a U.B.C.S. member who doesn't realize how bad Umbrella truly is.

Resident Evil 3 is undoubtedly a beautiful and cinematic game, but . . . So was the previous one. In fact this one is so similar to the previous one that it comes off as glorified DLC at times. It uses the same assets, mostly the same enemies, the same game route path, the same objectives, and the literal same climactic finale set piece of the NEST, although this time it's called the NEST 2. The cherry on top was when we straight up go through the R.P.D. section, and prepare to be slightly confused in the storyboard / chain of events since this one is both a prequel and a sequel to the previous game.

The previous game was a near masterpiece in my opinion but one thing that really annoyed me about it was Mr. X. This game takes it a step further with the introduction of the Nemesis, who makes Mr. X look like a mild slap on the wrist in comparison and is unfortunately the very foundation of the game. This game was also a heavy case of "Be careful what you wish for," as I've always asked for more cutscenes and more dialogue, but this game is borderline ruined by it's non stop forced cutscenes and quick time events, it felt like every 5 steps I would take during a climatic moment the game would take control of me and start doing things for me. it was infuriating. The game sounds pretty terrible right? It's actually not, hence my score; it just felt rushed out and made with less effort and creativity, but it's still a high quality experience worth your time.

Resident Evil 3 is the most major in terms of story events thus far so it's a must play, but prepare to be constantly irritated. It also marks the beginning of the end in this franchise I believe, as now the series is shifting more into action adventure territory rather than survival horror.
