In our run through the Separate Ways DLC, we control Resident Evil fans’ favorite spy, Ada Wong, as she tries to accomplish her mission while avoiding a familiar enemy who seems to always be a step ahead of her.

The Separate Ways campaign wasn’t included in the original GameCube version of Resident Evil 4. It was introduced in the PlayStation 2 port of RE 4 as a way to promote that version. While the original Separate Ways was a nice side campaign, it wasn’t as well-fleshed gameplay-wise as this new iteration. Something that was an interesting addition and, unfortunately, remains exclusive to the PS2 version was a post-game bonus called Ada’s Report; in which Ada shares her thoughts about her mission and the rest of the main game's cast, fully narrated by her voice actress back then.

Despite that, Separate Ways “Remake” introduces new combat mechanics by making use of Ada’s trademark grappling hook. While many assets from the main campaign of RE 4 Remake are reused here, there are plenty of new things to see, and even areas that were cut from Leon's campaign were reintroduced in Separate Ways.
