Resident Evil 7 Not A Hero DLC! You Can't Run From Chris Redfield - PC
So now that we've completed the entire Resident Evil series, what's next? Well, more RE, of course! Resident Evil 7 is such an important game in the franchise, but I played it so long ago that I didn't stream or record it. So this is a great opportunity to play it again with a fresh memory and complete my obsessive playlist. RE7 was the beginning of first-person perspective in the main series, adding a new element of spooky exploration. This, combined with VR, would definitely add to the immersion. It's also the first to use the RE Engine, which Capcom now uses exclusively for every game. The story revolves around new characters, including Ethan Winters, who finds a message from his missing wife leading him to a creepy southern estate. The game requires a lot of exploration, gathering key items to find a cure for a new mysterious virus. There is no shop or much of an upgrade system. It's rather simple and dialed back on mechanics; you can shoot, dodge by crouching, or block. The downsides are a lack of enemy-type variety, and the final areas are not as interesting and seem to just prolong the game. Besides that, there are a lot of classic horror movie elements, and it's a truly fresh take on Resident Evil. I still really enjoyed it and fell for a bunch of jump scares too, lol. You can also play as Chris Redfield in his own DLC. The gameplay is more action based with an interesting oxygen mask mechanic that he has to deal with. This wraps up what happened to that pesky Lucas too so it's important for the story.
