Resident Evil Gaiden! Leon & Barry Return With Aim Skill On The Game Boy Color?
4This is an official handheld version of Resident Evil for the Game Boy Color. Unlike the cancelled RE game we played earlier that was a direct copy of the original 1996, this one has it's own story and setting. You play as Leon and Barry tasked to eliminate a viral outbreak on a passenger ship. The story has this cool horror mystery to it similar to The Thing. There is tons of dialogue and cutscenes, the game is colorful and detailed with good music on top of that. I feel the presentation is amazing for a handheld game. The gameplay is set from a top-down perspective, however when entering combat it's sort of a RPG first person mode that requires timing your shots as the enemies approach the screen. It really gave me Sweet Homes vibes which I thought was awesome. Unfortunately the game isn't canon and the big main downsides is the lack of puzzles and invisible important weapons you have to pick up. Overall I think this game is definitely worth playing.
