The Callisto Protocol! Fighting Game of The Year, Hard Difficulty - PC (Part 2 of 3)
2Time for another brand new game! The Callisto Protocol recently came out and recommended by my stream since it was supposed to be like Dead Space. It turns out this game is absolutely nothing like it except it's in space. The story involves a freighter pilot named Jacob who get's incarcerated on the job to a prison moon. All hell breaks loose and you must escape and uncover the truth behind a massive spread infection. The gameplay surprisingly revolves around melee combat more than ranged firearms. You can dodge, block and even combo. It feels similar to Punch Out. The graphics are very top notch and the voice acting and death animations are amazing. The game starts off really strong but after a few hours in you start to see the games weak points. Everything begins to get stale and linear. The weapons aren't interesting and the melee combat doesn't evolve. The enemy design is a far cry from Dead Space where you approach almost everything the same. Even the upgrades aren't exciting enough. The game feels like a first draft base of something great and I feel like if the game had a mentor and improved every area this would be a big hit but I still had fun playing something new.
