Resident Evil Village is released in May 2021 and it's a sequel to 2017's Resident Evil 7: Biohazard. You'll play as Ethan Winters which is the main protagonist of the previous game. As opposed to RE7, Capcom decided to put more emphasize on action for this sequel. Blocking enemy attack is still here but with added push enemy back (after successfully blocking). Gameplay is still in 1st person perspective but I feel Ethan do move slightly faster than in previous game. Enemy types are now a lot more than in RE7. To focus more on action, the game would throw more enemies in front of you, and you have more bullets to craft/buy from merchant (The Duke). Maps are now larger and you travel into more different areas than before. They are treasures to be found and optional bosses. Unfortunately this installment did not fix much issues of the previous game, it still feels imbalance at times where suddenly you're killed in 2 hit, and some section offer scripted events just to make you feel suspense and uneasy where unlimited enemies will just come to you unless you move to certain points. These may be forgiven if it is better executed. The storyline is also slightly weaker than RE7. Overall to me this installment feels slightly weaker than RE7 but still provide a good survival horror-action blended Resident Evil experience.
