Computers with Pentium 4 processors whether they be socket 423 or 478 are good retro computers filling in the time gap of late 1998 to 2000. Athlon Slot A/Socket A/Socket 563 based computers can also be used. For games made from 2001 to 2006 with Windows XP, you will need a Pentium 478 based computer, or a Athlon socket 563/754 based computer as well.
Pentium 2s and Pentium 3s became obsolete around 2001 when it came to playing games. Here is a sample list of retro hardware and software you can use.
