Retro Gaming Capture Test 42 Part 1 | Commodore Amiga A500
More testing of gaming rigs I am building, where I would like each device to be played very quickly without any wiring and also to be able to capture footage where possible with just a few switches turned on. The point of these videos is to see how this type of set up can be done with different devices and maybe help anyone else trying to do a similar thing with a mix of old and new hardware.
My first Commodore Amiga device, starting off with an A500 with the 1 Meg upgrade. A very old piece of hardware, but it still seems to be in reasonable condition and all of the games I have picked up to go with it for initial testing seem to work well. First HDMI convertor to test with it is the cheapest option I already have, using a new Scart cable I picked up to replace the functional but not so good RF box, going into the Upscaler then capturing once again with the Elgato. The Scart to HDMI convertor and Upscaler most likely has a little lag but I have not noticed it while playing yet. The aspect ratio is not nice though, I can change that with my display but cannot correct it for the capture, so I will be testing out another option soon before capturing any long gameplay. I also picked up a new joystick and button box from Monster Joysticks which comes as a kit which is easy to build and seems to work well.
