More testing of gaming rigs I am building, where I would like each device to be played very quickly without any wiring and also to be able to capture footage where possible with just a few switches turned on. The point of these videos is to see how this type of set up can be done with different devices and maybe help anyone else trying to do a similar thing with a mix of old and new hardware.

Sixth to get tested on power up is the NES or Nintendo Entertainment System. Again using a fairly cheap convertor to get the signal converted from AV to HDMI, so I was quite surprised to see that apart from the colours maybe looking a little dull, for a 34 year old console and a 28 year old cartridge it looked and played good with no alignment issues either, just a little low on sound volume which was easily corrected. The one thing that I do not like about this cheap solution though is that although the image is correct on my display, the image is stretched for the capture so you are seeing a worse image than I get, maybe I can find a better solution soon. Also with no obvious problems for now using the HDMI splitter.

Console: Original Nintendo Entertainment System
Model: NESE-001 (GBR)
Display: Samsung Model UE40H6500ST
Convertor and Up Scaler: Gana Mini AV2HDMI
HDMI Splitter: AwakeLion Model HDSW0015M1
Capture: Elgato HD60S
Game Title: Original game cartridge of Super Mario Bros 3
