In this video I give a brief history of Eric Howlett, inventor of the LEEP system and Cyberface head mounted displays. Often overlooked in favor of other virtual reality pioneers such as Jaron Lanier and Ivan Sutherland, Howlett played a pivotal role in the first commercial steps of VR, releasing the first commercially available headset in 1989, a few months ahead of VPL's EyePhone.
