I thought this one would be an interesting test, since the original resolution of the video was impressive for the time (512x256 pixels at 24fps in 2001), but the compression was quite extreme.

I would say the AI has done a relatively decent job here. There are a lot of blocky artefacts from the compression that it's done quite well ironing out - although some random rectangle shapes do show up in place where the blocking was so extreme that the AI seems to have seen it as intentional and tried to maintain it. The driving rain also seems to confuse it somewhat, causing "wibbles" around the edges of object like logos and text.

As always, I used Topaz Video Enhance AI for the upscale work and RifeAPP to interpolate the increased frame rate.
