Return to Eden walkthrough (Apple II - Level 9 Computing/Rainbird)
Return to Eden (http://www.mobygames.com/game/return-to-eden) was a graphics adventure game created by Level 9 Computing and published by Rainbird in 1986 for the Apple ][. It is the second part of the Silicon Dreams trilogy. The player is Kim Kimberley, who saved the spaceship Snowball from sabotage by another female crew member in the previous part of the trilogy. However, Kim was put on trial because the crew mistakenly thought she was the saboteur. The story begins when Kim escaped from death in space by landing on the planet Eden, which Snowball is orbiting. The crew in Snowball is about to use its engine to burn down Kim. Little do they know that their action would cause the robots on Eden to treat Snowball as an enemy instead of the spaceship they were expecting.
Hope you enjoy the walkthrough!
Like other adventure games from Level 9 Computing, this game uses an interpreted language called A-code (http://ftp.ifarchive.org/if-archive/level9/info/Level9_Facts.txt) that allows Level 9 Computing to port their games to multiple platforms.
The long play is done by Smartadventurer, a program that I wrote to automate the playing for vintage Apple ][ games. You can follow the project here: https://vinniethelung.wordpress.com/tag/smartadventurer/
