Finally after 3 attempts I've managed to find the appropriate strategy for dealing with the Brain of Cthulu's second form. Honestly as long as you have any kind of spear type weapon and any sort of rapid fire projectile available you probably won't have much trouble with this boss (assuming you have a flat platform prepared), but the Crimson Rod makes his first form almost laughably easy. In any case, that's two bosses down in this session already, only 3 more pre-hardmode bosses to go.
