British Forces News has learned that a review is under way into the future training area needs of the British Army as it prepares to reduce its full-time strength by a fifth.

It will consider the long-term future use of the US Army's Hohenfels and Grafenwoehr facilities in southern Germany

They are currently the venue for a large-scale, multinational exercise involving thousands of personnel from 19 different nations, together with hundreds of jets, helicopters, tanks and Fighting Vehicles.

The 3rd Battalion the Mercian Regiment from Fallingbostel are providing the British contribution to Exercise Saber Junction.
