Going to Sandhurst is the most likely and popular way to become an officer but it is not the only route available to those in the Army.

Another way for soldiers to move forward is to attend the Potential Officer Development course at the Army School of Education at Worthy Down in Hampshire.

The aim of the course is to help soldiers develop self confidence, cultural interests, communication and interpersonal skills. It also helps develop analysis, planning and problem solving abilities.
