It's no secret that our channel has been very critical of both Bungie and Destiny. We believe that we have always had valid reasons to be agitated with both and have largely recommended people avoid the game. That said we recently played through The Beyond Light expansion and enjoyed it immensely. The story and progression feel more satisfying and it's as if Bungie finally figured out what made the game fun and have leaned wholeheartedly into it. Destiny 2's loot overhaul has made it so there is always something to chase. Armor with higher rolls on specific stats that you might deem more valuable based on what Class and Subclass you are using. Legendary guns with Firefly so that when you hit that middle rhino in the head the rest of those cabal scum melt into elemental goo. Farming trash legendaries and enhancement cores to bring the power level of the previously mentioned Firefly gun up to your current power level. Never in all the time we have spent playing Destiny has it felt so engaging and rewarding. Gone are levels. No more arbitrary skill unlocks that are just there to be there, as it had been on launch day. Instead you start with one subclass that has 3 ability trees available from the very get go. In order to unlock your other subclasses you simply need to kill enemies with the element desired for the sublcass unlock. It feels to us as if Destiny 2 is finally a game worth defending. We would definitely stand firm in a recommendation to anyone who has yet to play Destiny 2 or may have tried it in the past and didn't enjoy it, with the caveat that at any time it could change into a very different game than it is at the time of this video and that there would be nothing we could do about that.
