Having played the Christian Whitehead version of the game on mobile for over a decade, and moving on to fan decompilations and Sonic Origins, the original version of the game has fallen to the wayside for me, and I haven't played this version in a very long time. So, I decided to go back and play my original copy of the game on an original Mega Drive... Plus some extras.
