2We assaulted the alien base some three weeks ago. Well last week, they returned the favor, in force. It was the hardest mission yet and it was do-or-die. The entire game was on the line. There were 3 cyberdisks, 6 mechtoids, 3 cryssalids, and a bunch of other things. All told, when it was over there was 26 dead alien bodies. The good news is that we got a ton of much-needed weapon fragments. Sadly, we lost security officer Cory Brooks to a one-shot kill from a cyberdisk. He’ll be remembered for taking care of a cryssalid that was bearing down on Leah. That’s right, a low level security guard saved a colonel from certain death. He was a hero.
We also dealt with a UFO that landed (!!). On that mission, a sectoid commander mind controlled poor Leah and she ended up shooting Ikea, our Mec. Ikea was understandably upset, but they made up later. Now the two are like sisters.
This week, we’re waiting on a council report in two days and a covert op on the same day. I’m not sure what happens after that. Carne, our primary medic, is in the hospital for 6 days. We really need to train up Sq. Malin Haugen as soon as possible. The same thing is true with a backup for Leah. She’s our only decent assault soldier.
