Rex plays XCOM: Enemy Within #13 - Let’s get us a pet Beserker this time
4Okay, so last week was super successful. Nobody got hurt at all. We got our council report and they gave us an A. Whoo hoo! We met our first Beserker and tried to capture it, but Hawkeye got overzealous with her pistol and killed the bugger before Leah had a chance to zap him. We researched the advanced fighter jet and ordered three of them. We’ll need two more when those are done. They’re able to shoot down the stronger UFOs we’re going to face soon. We also are building the “Hyperwave Relay” and will be scanning using that soon. For something, not sure what. Those two things are necessary to advance the overall story.
In the near term, we’ve got a covert op to do in the UK with the newly nicknamed Farouk. Because he’s our main covert operative, he’s been nicknamed “Blackout". But before we do that, we’ve been given a council mission to do in France. There’s a van with some cargo that we need to recover. Once again the Council is not very clear about the mission. I’m sure we’ll learn more once we get there. They got this information from the EXALT operative we saved a while back. He was not very happy about it, but ultimately he provided them with the information they needed. We’ve already picked the team and it’s a balanced one, with both experienced soldiers and some that need advancement. We’re still training up Ikea (our only Mec) and our new support class Squaddie Malen. I can’t wait for her to earn a nickname. Oh yeah.
