Okay, so last time we ended with a cutscene. It was bad. The aliens are coming down to Earth in force. This time they’re bringing the spider guys, Chrysalids. Those guys move super fast, have a lot of health, and have armor that makes them hard to kill. They bite the heads off people, fill them with Chrysalid juice, then let them live to become zombies in a few turns. Zombies present their own problems. You have to kill somebody you used to love, somebody who’s already dead. Please no.

Anyhow, through no fault of my own, the game threw us into a bunch of missions right in a row. Now nearly everybody who has some experience is in the infirmary and this mission will have to include three rookies. Those guys can’t shoot straight if their lives depended on it, which it does. And if I don’t succeed in this mission, it probably means my game is over. It’s ugly.

If the game ends, we’re likely to begin all over again. I’m having too much fun. But I really hope not. It’s one big “uh oh” situation.
