RICE is a Twin Stick Shooter with RPG Elements. With temporary perks and permanent perks. It kind of works like Cookie Clicker (a highly addictive neverending growth game). So you start at zero, with your trusty sword that automatically shoots a short ranged attack. Killing monsters with it, gives you XP and if your XP Meter filled up, you can choose one perk. You can also choose to redraw the cards and see one card less (4 instead of 5), you can also deny any of the cards and use that level up, to get one additional card to choose from (6 instead of 5) and i really think it's better to pick cards of a certain type, since the effect starts pretty weak, but stack each time and get more viable on the later levels.

Now additional to the monsters, there are also little planets floating above some black goop (which looks like an Starfield). if you step in the goop it slows you down and you get damaged by it. If you shoot at the goop, it gets removed for a time being and you can finally shoot the little planet in the middle. If you destroy that planet, you get a choice of 3 different starting weapons and 100 Coins (or more depending on the size of the planet). The weapon gets placed in a open Slot or your Inventory. Depending on the Slot the weapon will shoot at enemys, your aim or to the closest planets. If you collected three weapons of the same type, they merge into a more powerful version of it.

Now if you die on a run, you can spend the collected coins on Skill slots and you can spend the coins to buy perks, that you can choose from when you leveled up. The difference is, that you start with the equipped perks, so your next run will be easier.

Overall for a 3 Euro game (probably 3,50 USD) the game is pretty complex. The music is nice and the gameplay is fun.
