Space Crew is a Strategy game and Simulation in one. It's a bit hard to describe, but i will try it. You indirectly control a small Space Ship with a Crew of 6 people. In this ship, you have different station, where the crew member can sit and each of these members got their profession. So you can interchange the different members on the stations, but if the station isn't for their profession, things don't work out like they could.

This describes mostly, how you control your crew in the space ship. Now comes the control of the ship itself. When you zoom out a bit, you press the Spacebar or middle mousebutton, to go into a target mode.
In this mode you can look around and set custom course markers. If you look for some time at targets like Stations or Warpgates, you automatically fly in that direction. If enemies are close, you mark them by looking at them and your crewmember automatically will shoot at them.

And to make things a bit more complicated, your Engineer can change the Ships Energy distribution. This would be Shields, Weapons, Energy and Gravity. Shield energy reloads the shield faster, Weapon energy increases the damage output, Engine energy increases the speed and Gravity energy is the ships artifitial gravity, so that your crewmember can move around faster in the ship.

This is also needed, since if your ship get damaged, it may need repairs, or else the damage will turn to fire and damage the ship and crewmembers. So you have to change the energy output to these different things, to be more efficient.

As you can see, despite the simple look of the game, it's pretty complex. So if you ever wanted to be the captain of a space ship, this might be your game.
