DLC reviews on Steam:
1. This level has quite a bit of backtracking, but thankfully the T-Rex books it really fast around while riding. And ultimately I think this is my favorite level in the game. For me it was just as long as the original game's levels. 2 hours. I love being able to ride most of the dinosaurs by buying different saddles.
The flying was pretty fun too, though a bit slow and I couldn't find a way to move faster like you can while on foot with sprinting.
Well worth it given the base game is free, it's easy to suggest buying this in support of the developers. - Elvick
2. I got the base game Island Saver and I am so excited to try this DLC DInosaur Island! I cant wait to see what other DLCs they come up with it. I will have to remember to come back to update this review after I have gotten through DInosaur Island but I have a feeling it will be just as fun and cute as the rest of the game has been!
Update 6/21/2020
I finally got a chance to play the Dinosaur DLC and I enjoyed it! I like that they twisted things up a bit. In this DLC, you find a pig who got himself into debt trying to help the dinosaurs and needs help paying his loans. While you should never assume someone will help pay your loans or bills in real life, in terms of gameplay I enjoyed helping the pig out. It was satisfying to pay off every debt. I also enjoyed being able to ride the different dinosaurs including the t-rex! My only complaint is that you have to backtrack a lot and I kept forgetting where to find the bridge or the fruit seed seller or the plant These things aren't shown on the map. I almost felt like I needed directional arrows or a sign for what the different areas were. The base game is the same, helping the animals by cleaning the islands and feeding them.
Overall, I enjoyed this DLC and cannot wait for the next one! I think there are a lot of options for the next DLC. Like an underwater ocean world but you walk around like normal (special gear that makes your waterproof and boots that make you stick on floor)? Or a tropical rainforest? Zoo Animals? The Desert? Mythical creatures? - Nightsky
3.Overall if you liked the free game, which I did, you might still enjoy this but by the end of it I started getting tired from the minor annoyances I had like the slippery platforming and how long it takes to recover from it, and all the handholding stuff that felt a bit worse on this island.
Speaking of which the biggest issue I really had was the new pig character that replaced the parrot, he was so irritating! The other islands were enjoyably relaxing but he ruined it with his constant reminders of the obvious things I was supposed to do while I was already doing them.
I know the devs targeted kids with this game but kids aren't that stupid and the free islands worked fine without this.
Last nitpick that matters to nobody but me: I get those cartoons aren't meant to be seen as realistic depictions but couldn't you at least give the raptors their feathers and not have the hands pronated? - SeriousPain
4. Overall I liked this DLC I prefer the Fantasy Island DLC and The Base Game more but I do think this is worth buying for the price and it had about 2 hours worth of content which I enjoyed so I would recommend buying it. - GlitterQueenGamer
