Riptide GP Renegade - Tropico Bay PS4 (60fps/Upscaled 4K)
11Do you like Hydro Thunder? Are you yearning for H2Overdrive to get ported to consoles or PC (or *whispers* the arcade machine to get cracked...). Love aquatic themed racers in general? Then get yourself a copy of this little gem! I've uploaded a few races of this before, using the PS4's internal capture which locks the video at 720p and 30fps. I've used my external capture device here, which shows what the game SHOULD look like, running at 60 fps and then further upscaled to 4K to stop YouTube compressing the video and turning it into a horrible pixelated mess.
This is an absolutely brilliant budget PS4 game that I picked up on the PSN store together with its predecessor, Riptide GP 2, for 9 quid for the pair. I recently saw it going for even less in a PS Plus sale. It's by Vector Unit the same guys who did Hydro Thunder Hurricane and these guys really know how to create a fun arcade racer title, with all the sort of fantastical trackside elements that you'd expect to see in a classic Midway or Sega racer from the 90's (rather than some dull as fuck 'realistic' track).
The whole reason I was getting some capture from this game was to use in an upcoming comparison, but I thought it looked so good it deserved a stand alone upload. The comparisons (using this footage) are still coming though...
Oh and there are a couple of absolutely thumpin' DnB tunes in there as well!
