How does the PC version of Outrun 2006 Coast 2 Coast compare to the actual emulated version of the Sega Lindbergh version of Outrun 2 SPDX? Outrun 2 SPDX ran on the Sega Lindbergh arcade board and here is running on my PC in the most recent version of Teknoparrot (1.94). The PC version of Coast 2 Coast is running using the FXT mod created by Howard Casto, which (among many other things) makes the in game menus look like the arcade version. both games are being played with my DFGT wheel.

It's long been know that the PC version of Outrun 2006 Coast 2 Coast is graphically deficient, in that it was lacking any of the bloom effects that were in the console versions, despite being the only version of the game in HD. It was discovered fairly recently (ish) that there was a way to correct this, partially, by moving a file around to enable the lens flare effect https://youtu.be/KhiJlXzx804

Even with this corrected PC lens flare/ bloom, the SPDX version still look a lot nicer and generally more vibrant and in the night time sections stuff like the car's rear lights are far more noticeable - the difference between the two games seems even more pronounced in the OR2 tracks than the SP ones, especially on the Deep Lake and Castle Wall stages where the bllom is far more pronounced in SPDX than in the PC game. Also, SPDX's HUD elements (timer, speedo, score et cetra) are in the right aspect ratio, whereas they've just been unnaturally stretched from 4:3 into 16:19 in the PC game, which is a bit shit really. I hate to put the boot into it, because Sumo Digital did so much stuff right, but this just feels like something that should have easily been sorted out before the game's release.

These were both captured at what should been the same resolution (1920 x 1080p) so I don't know why the PC version has come out a tiny bit smaller height-wise...
