Playing the Risk of Rain 2 VR mod is mind-blowing, it transforms Risk of Rain into a fully fleshed out VR experience with 6DOF, motion controls, crisp 3D visuals and also acts as a Risk of Rain first person mod at the same time. The bullet hell, roguelike nature of the game translates beautifully into VR & when you combine that with the fact it can be played entirely in co-op then you've got another incredible VR experience here courtesy of the modding community. This year is crazy for providing us with the best VR mods for non VR games, we've had GTFO, Valheim & RDR2 all just recently & the modding community looks pretty unstoppable right now. This one was an immediate win for me, I hopped into Risk of Rain 2 VR using my Oculus Quest 2 (with link cable because once again I forgot to charge my Quest 2) and within moments of starting my first run I knew the creators of this mod had pulled off something incredible. If your first experience with Risk of Rain 2 was this mod then you could be excused in thinking it was a native VR game, it runs smoothly, the motion controls work extremely well, button configuration feels natural & the scale of the world is spot on. If you use the R2modman mod manager you can even load the game using Steam VR or Oculus VR (whichever you prefer) and you can edit settings like snap turn, dominant hand & world scale all from within the mod manager, it's genuinely impressive stuff.

As far as the game goes this Risk of Rain 2 VR mod pushes the game into the limelight as one of the best pick up and play co-op experiences in VR, the action is fast, frantic & perfect for intense VR sessions. The Risk of Rain 2 VR mod is another testiment to exactly why more games should have native VR modes, the implementation here is exceptional & will hopefully bring a whole new group of players to the game.
