Risky Close Range Nova with 10 Heavy Small Lasers & Light MG- Mechwarrior Online The Daily Dose #277
342I wanted to check the power of the new Heavy Small Lasers and took the trusty Nova for today's build.
The Heavy Smalls are of course extremely limited in range. But if you boat them and take 10 with a very mobile Medium Mech you can deal some serious damage and get very fast kills.
What I like to do with this Nova build is the following:
1.) try to set up an ambush or a flanking maneuver. When the enemy is not aware of your position you quickly dash forward and unload your 65 damage from the Heavy Small Lasers and instantly retreat. If you are feeling lucky you can do that twice and maybe snatch a kill.
2.) Stay close to your Assault Mechs, especially the ones that are set up as brawlers. When they push forward you go with them and open up critical components while your Assault buddies are tanking the damage. This way you have some free shots and can take your time targeting the enemy.
In the late game you can start dealing critical damage with your Light Machine Guns. These weapons have a superior range compared to the regular MG which makes it somewhat easier to stay at a safe spot.
