182Today's episode of the Battletech 2017 Beta review covers the importance of heat management. It is crucial for your success on the battlefield to know which weapon to fire in which situation.
HBS already did a good job covering one of the most important mechanics in the Battletech universe: The fact that your weapons generate heat when they are fired. This makes it so that even a single overpowered Mech can't stand against multiple lighter Mechs just because it will run hot at some point and can't defend itself anymore.
Therefore plan ahead what you want to do with your Battlemechs. Especially on the hotter maps of the Battletech universe it is very important to know which weapon generates the least heat for the damage output it has. Early on it is a good idea to fire only Long Range Missiles and Autocannons. These are relatively heat efficient.
