River Raid is a scrolling shooter video game developed and published by Activision in 1982 for the Atari 2600. It was designed by Carol Shaw, one of the first female video game designers. The game was ported to several other platforms, including the Atari 5200 in 1983.
The Atari 5200 version of River Raid is a faithful port of the original game, with improved graphics and sound. The game also features a number of enhancements, such as a new difficulty level and a two-player cooperative mode.
