Rob Plays "After Burner (UK)" (C64)
8A brief play (with commentary) of the PAL/UK conversion of Sega's After Burner, developed by Dalali Software & published by Activision in 1988.
Considering the raw power of the hardware behind the original arcade game, this C64 conversion was always going to one of those impossible ones to get right, and sadly it does show.
It's one I played somewhat back in the day (though, more out of desperation ;)) - as with most of the home computer conversions, it's rather terrible. But oddly, playing it now - it felt kinda dull, rather than a disaster. Makes me wonder if it's just down to the nature of the release one might have played - or maybe (as expected for a UK release), the game was designed for tape loading more than disk loading...
