"Robowarrior," originally known as "Bomber King" in Japan, is an action-adventure game that debuted on the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) in 1988. Developed by Hudson Soft, the game takes place in a futuristic sci-fi world where they take command of a robot on a vital mission to safeguard Earth from an invading alien force. The game takes place on a distant planet called Altile, which was created as a solution to Earth's overpopulation crisis by scientists.

During a period of tranquility on Altile, the Robowarriors that had been sent from Earth were decommissioned. However, this peace is shattered when the nefarious Xantho empire launches an aggressive invasion, seeking to exploit Altile for their own selfish gain. Players assume the role of Zed, a cyborg warrior belonging to the Z-type Earth Defense forces. Zed's primary objective is to infiltrate various enemy bases situated across different planets. With Altile under siege, Zed launches raids against the Xantho empire, aiming to eliminate their leader, Xur.

Zed employs bombs to clear away rocks, walls, and forests, while engaging in combat with enemies and collecting items. The game features a total of 27 levels. Along the way, players will encounter boss battles at regular intervals. Certain unconventional areas may necessitate the use of multiple bombs. Zed is controlled from an overhead viewpoint, allowing players to guide him in four different directions as he traverses the treacherous terrain.

Overall, "Robowarrior" is an action-packed action-adventure game that transported players to a futuristic world of intergalactic conflict. It's an intriguing but flawed spin-off, diverging from Bomberman's formula with a more complex gameplay. Despite not significantly contributing to the Bomberman franchise, Robowarrior showcases the potential of exploring spin-offs, blending familiar concepts with new environments. Robowarrior remains a memorable entry in the console's library of games.
