Rob's Retro Rambles - Nodes of Yesod "Fast play remix" (C64 )
Okay, since filming this I have reminded myself that Nodes of Yesod was the first, and then The Arc of Yesod came after. And apparently, it was a bit of a disappointment as it was pretty much the same game, just with some slightly altered graphics and a different map.
But hey, if you liked Nodes, maybe all you wanted from a sequel was more of the same? Do ALL sequels have to do more than the original? What if all the new things they add to a sequel don't actually improve the game? Hmmmmm.
Oh yeah, and turns out I wasn't THAT far off with the protagonist's name; it was actually Charlemagne "Charlie" Fotheringham-Grunes. Whose name came from two of the game's artists, Stuart Fotheringham and Colin Grunes. So that's kinda cute, I guess.
There's all sorts of info on wikipedia, surprising what you find at times: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nodes_of_Yesod
Still no idea what the "Fast play remix" suffix was all about, mind. Anyone?
Bueller? Bueller?
