Rockman X7 is certainly viewed by many in a poor light though it was actually how I discovered the series and while it's certainly no shining gem and is a bit unpolished, lacking and frustrating at times for the most part it's not quite as bad as it's reputation would have you believe... at least most of the time.
just to note this is my first playthrough as last time I played it many years ago I only ever beat the intro stage.
The intro stage itself is nothing too special it introduces you to the new character for the game Axel lets you get your footing with some basic combat and platforming and then swaps you over to Zero to let you get a good feel for him for the rest of the stage.
