One of best additions to Rogue Legacy 2 was the introduction of Relics. A risk/reward run based upgrade that can greatly improve your chances of success. However, not all relics are created equal and most relics use your resolve, which can greatly hinder your character at the same time, so here are the worst five relics in Rogue Legacy 2.

Worst Relics:

Charons Trial - cursed relic, next hit fatal. Defeat 15 enemies to purify. gain 20% gold, ore, aether bonus

Cursed Relics can be great like ones where you only need to find health and potions, meaning you can just peek rooms to see if there are breakables to check. With Charon’s Trial you need to defeat 15 enemies to purify it but after that you only get a 20% boost to gold, ore and aether with the last two being much less common.

Dreamcatcher - defeat enemies at max hp to gain 5 max mana - 35 resolve

Once again, this relics looks better on paper than in use because you are almost never at full health and the resolve cost is fairly high.

Gnawed bone - eating health at full hp increases max hp 10% - 25 resolve

Gnawed Bone sounds great by increasing your HP, but the real chances of this are slim because first you are often not at full health and secondly there are minimal health items to eat. Add to the fact that it cost 25 resolve and it only stacks three times and you can throw this bone away.

Lotus Stem - blocks up to 2 attacks, costumes 150 mana per block - 45 resolve

Some classes don’t even start with 150 mana and even fewer have 300, meaning that the Lotus Stem is largely ineffective depending on your mana pool. You are also largely removing your class skill from the equation while also using 45 of your resolve.

war drum - every unique relic increases damage 6% - 45 resolve

Relics cost a lot of resolve, especially the War Drum which is 45 resolve. How many relics can you realistically stack before your resolve is so low that your health is one. This is the shortcut to become a glass cannon.

Honorable Mentions:

Pandoras Trial - cursed relic. any damage is fatal. Defeat 10 enemies to purify. gain 50 resolve

Serrated Handles Bargain - deal and take 100% more damage - 15 resolve

Glowing Ember - deal 75 more damage on every six hit, reset if damage taken - 25 resolve.

Diogenes Bargain - no more gold, instead converted to XP. 15 resolve
