Roll The Dices to Fold your Enemies In This Turn-based Roguelike | Dice & Fold demo
2Hello everyone! Here we are with another demo of an upcoming game. This is Dice & Fold, a turn-based roguelike with dices that has some mechanics pretty similar to Spellrogue,some nice hand-drawn art and a really chill music in the background, helping for a cozier experience. The game goes as follows: Every stage, you will have to face a number of enemies, which you will be able to fold (defeat) by rolling the dices and getting the required numbers, but you can also use those dices to play your skills. The requirements for both (enemies and skills) are pretty similar to how it works in Spellrogue (if you are familiar with it), sometimes needing a number equal or higher, and sometimes requiring the exact same number (sometimes even lower).
Game is quite good and there is a nice variety of playable characters and companions, but I still have a few complains. Starting for how unclear some "details" are in the tutorial. They tell you that one thing is for this or that you will need something for that other thing... but without pointing anything at all. You will still be able to understand thanks to trial and error, but I wasn't too happy with it (maybe cost me my first run). Also, I don't know how to feel about getting a new companion to replace a previous one, with no turning back. Finally, I feel like the first two stages should not have (or have not more than one) enemies that require exact dices, because you have no items and almost no way to control your rolls, so your basically doomed to wait until you get the exact number, depending 100% on luck and chances, giving as a result possible defeats in the first stages with nothing to do about it.
Still, even with those details (that might make you get a bit frustrated, even when the overall game is quite good) I really enjoyed the game. And, also, the music was helping to keep a chill atmosphere.
