This is a deep dive into the Rotring 700 series, one of the most interesting of Rotring's series of pens and pencils. The series has not gained the popularity of the iconic Rotring 600 series (which today includes the 800 series) or even the 900 series, but rather it's been largely forgotten except by a small set of collectors.

The 700 series was first sold in the early 1990s and was sold through 1998. The design has not aged well, which was likely true as early as 1998, hence its cancellation.
