For the Royal Irish Regiment in Ternhill this year's St Patricks Day parade marked the end of an era for the Battalion.

They step down from 10 years of operational duties in Afghanistan and Iraq and move to contingency Operations in Mali alongside members of the Irish Defence Force.

It will be the first time the two nations' armies have worked side by side since the First World War.
