Falkland Islanders are voting on the second day of a two-day referendum on whether they want to remain British.
But before the result is even known, Argentina has dismissed the vote as meaningless.
The referendum was instigated by the residents themselves - with 1,672 voters being asked whether they want to remain an internally self-governing British overseas territory.
Gathering votes is a logistical challenge as it takes place across an inhospitable territory of 4,700 square miles, with mobile polling booths being transported by plane and four-wheel drive vehicles.
Argentina has branded the referendum 'illegal' because it says the islanders are an 'implanted population.'
