Hello! Welcome to episode 5 of our RPG Maker MV event tutorial series! In this episode we'll be looking at a modern way to handle battles in RPG Maker by showing enemies on the map and triggering battles from interactions with those enemies, bypassing the random encounter system.

We will go over some key points on how to use this type of event system, some things to be aware of, and I set up a small system that triggers a small cut scene based on the number of enemies killed.

There are some other methods that you can use and some plugins that give you a lot more control over these types of map encounters if you want to take this kind of encounter system to the next level.

Next week, in episode 6, we're tackling one of the most work-intensive event topics; branching dialog.
