(Strategy and preparation)
Kill off two of your characters before the battle,and that will make Ruby Weapon dig in with his tentacles,after that Revive your two dead characters with the Phoenix Summon,or in this instance with Revive(Life 2) + All Materia(in my opinion a better option)
After you have revived all of your characters start with the W Summon,Hades(inflicts paralysis) as the first Summon and Knights of the Round as the second Summon(maximum damage)
With the other two characters(or one,or all) Mime the attack until Ruby Weapon is dead,sometimes the paralysis will "wear off" (like in this video) and Ruby Weapon will attack you once or twice,but if you have good equipment on,then that shouldn't be a problem
Ruby Weapon always counterattacks KotR Summon with Ultima Magic unless it is paralyzed
Most of the Materias I have equipped are just for the AP,because defeating Ruby Weapon gives you a lot of them (50 000 AP)
In order to defeat Ruby Weapon you only need several Materias,Mime,W Summon(not mandatory if you wanna do it without Hades,but recommended),HP Absorb,HP Plus,and Revive + All or Phoenix Summon(not mandatory if you wanna solo the battle with one character,but also not recommended because of the AP loss)
