Playing Ocean's Run The Gauntlet for the first time on the ZX Spectrum.

I half-remembered it as a gameshow but it was less that, more of an "action sports" challenge. Ex-CI5 Professional Martin Shaw (to later become Judge John Deed, another source of disappointment for me whenever I see it in the TV guide and misread it as Judge Joe Dredd) introduced sky divers, powerboats, quadbikes, hovercraft, jetskis and various types of offroad buggies (including 'Supercats'!), all hammering it round an army training course while Unwins Pyrotechnics set of explosions all around.
Sound exciting? Well, don't worry, that was tempered by some of the most boring coverage imaginable, with smoke obscuring the action, editing completely ignoring details like the changeovers in relay races and some of the dullest Alan Partridge-esque commentary you're ever likely to find.
So, all in all, it was a bit on the 'disappointingly naff' side of things, but how did the game fare?

Oh yeah, there's a whole episode of the show here if you'd like to see what it was like: https://youtu.be/HLCc6OUlD-Y
(I only thought to watch it *after* I'd filmed this, nothing quite like doing research, or prepping at all, before playing a game eh?)
