Rush'n Attack/Green Beret (NES/FC) - Longplay
Green Beret (グ リ ー ン ベ レ ー Guri: n Bere :) is a platform action video game released by Konami for slot machines in 1985 and later ported to most home consoles.
Released during the recession of the Cold War, the game was nevertheless published in North America under a title that exploits the theme of the confrontation between the United States and the USSR - Rush'n Attack (a play on words, reads the same as "Russian Attack", that is, "Russian attack").
The protagonist (or in two-player mode, heroes) is a US Special Forces soldier, abandoned at a Soviet (presumably) military base. The goal of the game is to free a group of prisoners of war sentenced to be shot (in the NES version - to destroy the "secret weapon").
Both versions (for arcade machines and NES) end with a scene in which the hero fires a grenade launcher at a ballistic missile, causing it to detonate, and escapes from the territory of the military complex against the background of a nuclear mushroom growing in the air.
