While out on a roam near bandit, I saw someone checking around decaying bases and decided to get closer - he unfortunately saw me to and began running away, I followed and managed to catch up to him but after looting him, I realised that he most likely had been dropping loot as he ran.

Retracing his steps, I didn’t find his gun, but I did find hundreds of HQM, Scrap and Cloth - all items I was eagerly after for my wipe.

So my advice to you is, if you’re chasing a solo and they go out of view for a moment, it may well be worth going back to that spot to see what exactly they dropped when you weren’t looking. In this case it was HQM, so if you’ve watched my video on how to get HQM in Rust, this is always another option to get stacked, find and loot the guys rooting around in the decaying bases.
