When the Crawling Mechanic saves your base from a Raid in Rust… | Solo Rust Clip
I managed to slow down and stop a fairly terrible attempt at a raid by using the crawl mechanic and a well timed door close.
While taking a break on my solo wipe, I came back to see my screen shaking. With them two doors deep and my bunker not in place, they were only 1 garage door from my core.
While I left a door open attempting to hold a position that was already being held, I realised I could wait for them to clear out of the way of their new satchel charges and shut the door currently left open, giving my chance to repair any damage and potentially seal the raid. Even though I was downed while shutting this door, the new crawl mechanic meant I could shut both doors and stop their raid in its tracks.
Fortunately for me, counters came and won against the raiders and I got a chance to stick a bunker down and replace the destroyed doors.
This was early into my first day of wipe and the need for shotgun traps as a solo has never been more clear.
Apologies for some of the cuts and audio, I was not ready to record, had so much open on PC and was in a fairly active discord call.
