RX Vega to have 3 Distinct SKUs Including Cutdown Versions | Jenga CPU Cache = 30% Perf Increase
RX Vega will have 3 distinct SKUs, each with different power draws, clock speeds, compute units and of course performance.
These are the Radeon RX Vega XTX, Radeon RX Vega XT, and finally Radeon RX Vega XL - with the number of stream processors ranging from 4096 to 3584, and with 8 GB of HBM2 for at least 2 of the higher end SKUs.
The new Jenga caching system, developed by the folks over at MIT improves processor performance by up to 30 percent, while reducing power consumption up to a staggering 85 percent. Jenga changes how caching works in a CPU by being much smarter where data is stored and in which cache.
